pack the livin hell out of whatever it is.
Thanks! I’ll have to start looking at ebay.
I wish I would have taken snaps of all my figures in their boxes before taking them out. Trying to mistransform them to fit in the box is a pain.
September 10, 2021 at 10:53 pm #905Participantdpuff@dpuffI think these are fine. I’d just like to add #8: @Dpuff buys us lunch every other Friday until Bandit is released. (Pssst…dalianjj, take your time.)
A driver will be around to pick everyone up @11 am next Friday. You’ll be taken to whichever private airfield I own near your homes and whisked away on one of my several private jets to a classified location. There we will enjoy the finest cuisine from the finest chefs in all the world. I only have a few left but this is going to be the start of something special so prepare your tastebuds for dodo omelets.

Those TFW mods really missed out. dpuff is like the Forrest Gump of the FT world.
“dpuff pastries, it’s a household name.”
September 11, 2021 at 4:35 am #909ParticipantChristian@christiancLooping back a few pages to the selling figures bit. Thinking about offloading a few of mine. For those that have have sold figures, what site do you use to list them? How do land on a price? Any best practices you can share?
I sell on EBay quite a bit and have on FB as well. If you can afford to wait, I’d probably join a bunch of groups on FB and hunt for buyers for what you want to sell, if possible.
Ebay is fine, but you’re going to get annoyed with them sooner or later, so I’d list them on multiple sites and just take them down once they sell.
What are you looking to get rid of?
September 11, 2021 at 10:48 am #910ParticipantMoose@maraudingmooseWhat are you looking to get rid of?
Couple bandit prototypes. (Blue text)
My Maketoys seekers and the FT Aerialbots. I caved and picked up DS-01 and I have been flirting with getting rid of the 3 FT figs for months. Not sure if I’m going to list any of them yet. The idea is about 65% baked. I’m interested in seeing how much work it is to sell them and what I could get – in a ballpark-ish way.
September 11, 2021 at 10:58 am #911ParticipantMoose@maraudingmooseI’m also not on Facebook, so that really limits my options
September 11, 2021 at 11:09 am #912Participantdpuff@dpuffIve had the opposite experience between fb and ebay. Never had any major problems with selling on ebay. Ive had the typical no payments after auctions or ive accepted an offer. And a couple ppl who wanted to return something and i had to accept it bc thats how ebay rolls apparently. Fb however, no thanks. Constant PMing from ppl who want to “work out deals” but always want to try to trade instead of buy. Or trying to work out a legit deal and the person doesnt want to pay goods n services or shipping and argues with you bc “man i thought we were cool” or “thats more than its worth to me but I still really want it so im just gonna keep buggin u about it”. Ppl use fb and it works for them. Me? I see it as a broader version of craigslist.

That convinced me. Ebay it is
September 11, 2021 at 5:15 pm #914ParticipantChristian@christiancMy Maketoys seekers.
I’m very likely interested in those. I also got DS-01, but I am not fond of waiting until the other two are released, if they ever are.
Random question for everybody: Do any of you use the “Official FansToys” group on Facebook? Needless to say, I just got banned for going after an admin. What a bunch of shitbags those people are.

Facebooks newest slogan
September 11, 2021 at 7:37 pm #916ParticipantTeletran-1@teletran-1Yeah ebay will charge more, but you also can charge more for whatever you’re selling and not have the hassles of people on FB. I get the same guy every time asking “Is that in Canadian dollars?” I say no again and then he low balls whatever it was.
My one problem with eBay was a buyer in Mexico, I was selling some cheap Robot heroes PVC Transformer set and it cost like $20 to ship but over $150 with tracking because it was so remote. The item was only $20 so I didn’t get tracking. About 6 months later I think they filed a claim saying it never showed up. Never contacted me or anything. I think they waited until the time was nearly expiring and then basically got their money back. I’d just be careful where you’re willing to ship and keep the receipts and photos of you shipping it in case there’s any problem and you have to deal with eBay or PayPal at any point.
@Christianc I’m surprised you lasted 10 minutes on that FT group, it’s the douchiest of the known TF fandoms!

The “Official” Fanstoys group, besides not being official, is basically a premium-price scam group, and with high levels of toxicity.

That’s funny, because the one time I used it in the first week, some hillbilly dipshit with a haircut straight out of Pride Parade started trying to argue with me about scalping and retailers jacking up prices.
The moment the admins and mods started screaming at people for posting photos of their kids playing with figures but let these limp-dicks try to antagonize new members, I knew it wouldn’t be long. Maybe two months? Three? But I only used it about three times.

Straight into the lion’s den. I don’t really know much about Facebook groups but I do know that that one is definitely not for me.

Sorry you had that happen. I hadn’t considered restricting the destination, but it makes sense based on what you said. Thanks for the heads-up and the insight. My luck is generally meh, so all of this really helpful.
@christianc, if I pull the trigger on selling them, I’ll definitely let you know.
I’m pretty useless when it comes to Facebook. Never joined
